Being Tested

July 19-2017
Some times we know what we want to say but don’t know just how to say it. Some times it’s because of the politically correct nonsense and here in the Middle East it is because of the sensitive religious problems that bring out a level of hatred that defies reason and common sense.

It was 1968 when I accepted Yeshua as my Messiah in those 49 years there were times when the experiences were wonderful and lots of fun, it was called the Charismatic Movement, I thank God for those years in the early 70’s for it gave me a real thirst for the Word of God. The Joy of the Lord hasn’t left me but it has been seasoned with a very heavy dose of reality, maybe it’s called growing up in the reality that God gives us a time of childish fun and enjoyment in preparing us for spiritual warfare. Watching my grandkids growing up here in Israel now 2 and 3 years old, how full of life and fun it is for them it reminds of my early life of walking with the Lord knowing that somehow I had a Father who would somehow protect me and everything would be okay. No, I haven’t lost that feeling and knowledge that I am secure in Him but the responsibility of knowing not to tempt Him or to be foolish has also settled in to my understanding.

I really didn’t plan to write the above but it sort of just flowed out so I will send it to you. Thinking maybe I should start this report over, but I will leave it as it is. Possibly it’s because lately I’ve been feeling like a failure unable to move this ministry forward in order to accomplish things that need to be done to save many Jewish lives. It seems that my burdens and desires far outweigh my ability to do the things necessary to successfully reach out to them in any really meaningful way.

In over 40+ years in God’s service under the Blood of Yeshua I know that almost without fail right before the Holy Spirit “Ruach Hakodesh” moves in a way that will lift up and glorify Messiah Yeshua. The Devil launches his attack, the severity of his attack depends on the importance it is to him. And when it comes to bringing Jews home to Israel in the last days that is at the top of his list for his demise is in the balance. Many times over the years I’ve preached on spiritual warfare but preaching about it from the Bible and living it is two totally different things. There are different levels of spiritual growth in all God’s spiritual gifts, we first blossom then bud and hopefully mature enough to give forth some fruit. It has been my experience that there are no short cuts to that growth in the Messiah.

I witness that in the 40-day wilderness experience of Yeshua where He was tested in the lusts of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life. We all know that Yeshua did not need to be tested, that He is the example of what we can expect in our lives and spiritual growth. He was only showing us what we can expect along the way to any level of maturity.

I-Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

The above Scripture is not just for the clergy but for all those who have chosen to accept Yeshua as Messiah. For the most part this kind of spiritual warfare is not being taught in today’s Churches. There is however those who are chosen to serve in the offices of the Church.

EPH: 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

But for the most part churches today consist of a Pastor and a congregation – maybe a few Elders.

It does seem to me that those of Eph 4:11 are tested harder and more often than the rest of the body of Messiah, that is not to say they are more important but that they are judged differently they have the responsibility of leading the others in the right direction and for the purpose of God’s Kingdom. But you can be sure that we are all tested in the same areas Yeshua was tested in His 40 days in the wilderness.

I could go on and on with this subject but I hope you have received whatever it is the Holy Spirit wants each of us to have from it.

In conclusion this ministry and those called to be part of it are being tested, because they are needed now more than ever. If the Devil can stop support prayer or financial support at this time, he wins we lose. But here is the good news we don’t collectively lose for God judges each of us individually and so many have been faithful to His calling and have responded in obedience to the small still small voice we all know that speaks into your spirit leading and guiding us.

We have come a long way in setting up communications and contacts around the Eastern Mediterranean we have purchased two 60-foot boats. Rabbis and European Jews know of our ministry and know or believe they can depend on us when the time comes.

I started this report by saying I feel as if I have failed. No, I haven’t failed and neither have any of the supporters of this ministry, at least not on an individual basis for that is how God sees each of us. As for the Golden’s here in Israel we will not stop, we will stop only when God bring us home.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for our son Joel and all the IDF soldiers. Pray for this ministry and your part in it.

Shalom, jerry golden
