With the dialogue between Turkey and Israel reaching a new low, and looking like it will get much worse in the near future, puts this Ministry in a precarious position. It seems that the Turkish Prime Minister Tayyep Recip Erdogan has made up his mind that to be friends with Israel is not in his best interest. Instead, his move towards developing closer ties with Iran and Syria reveals the direction in which he wants to take his country in these days. As I’ve mentioned in previous reports, this lines up with Ezekiel 38:5-6 (Togarmah includes today’s Turkey) and is just another indication of the end times we now find ourselves living in.
I’ve done a lot of Ministry work in Turkey and know many Turkish people. I can tell you, without any doubt, that the large majority do not agree with this move towards making friends with Iran and Syria. In fact, most Turks dislike the Arabs, and if you should make the mistake of referring to them as an Arab they will quickly straighten you out on that! They are not Arabs and do not agree with everything the Arabs say or do. For the most part they are very moderate – even to the point of being secular. I personally like the Turkish people, and have found them, for the most part, friendly and show friendship toward Israel. It’s similar to what is happening in the US and Israel; the majority of the people do not agree with their Government, yet seem powerless to change the direction in which they are headed.
Turkey is a member of NATO and has for years tried to join the EU, yet without success, because of the objections of France and other European countries. It now seems that Turkey has completely given up on their hopes of ever becoming a EU Member, and has decided to gravitate towards the Arab countries for support and friendship. This will of course open the door for radicals like al-Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah to make their move into Turkish society. There they will begin to threaten the populace with more terrorism, forcing them to submit to Islam. (After all, Islam means “Submit”).
Well, I could go on and on with this, there is much more to the story, but I think you will understand my point? We are now being faced with the problem of choosing the correct place to position the boat we presently keep in Turkey. Possibly a Greek Island, Cyprus or even further south along Europe’s coastline? Of course prayer is our first and most important thing at this time. I should also tell you that we have many really good friends in Turkey. The question is; how much danger would we be placing them in by having them stand by us? How much pressure would they be able to take before deciding to give us up to protect their families? I should also say that it is nowhere near that dangerous or bad at this time, but with what seems to be the current move of the Turkish Government, things could move in that direction almost overnight.
There are no surprises in any of this. We’ve known for years this was going to happen for it is written in God’s Word. Today Islam is taking over Europe. London and Paris are both being called “little Gaza”‘s and Jews are living there in fear of their lives. The time for this Ministry to go into full operation could be nearer than one might think. For as war looms over us from the Gaza Strip, Syria and Iran, knowing that Egypt and Jordan will also join in for fear of being targeted themselves our only obligation at this time is to prepare to be ready to save as many as we possibly can no matter the risks involved.
Our finances have taken a downturn over the past few months. We are not looking to the “natural” for our support – but the “supernatural”. The only way we can go forward in the days ahead is with our eyes fastened on the things of God and following His leading by the power of the Ruach Hakodesh. If God has touched your heart to bless the Apple of His Eye that means you are special in His eyes. Gen. 12:3.
We still need the larger boat, and many other things as well. It is expensive to travel for the setting up of safe houses and routes, making contact with key people and preparing the many things that are obvious needs in such a Ministry. One Ministry can’t do everything that needs to be done. We must do all that we possibly can, then by faith believe that the seemingly impossible will be done to save Jewish lives. We need to hear from you this month for much must be accomplished and soon.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for our son Joel and all the IDF soldiers. Pray for this Ministry and your part in it.
Shalom, Jerry Golden
